Should low-dose radiation be considered for COVID-19 treatment?
Several clinical trials are underway to examine the effiacacy of low-dose radiation therapy (LDRT) for COVID-19. LDRT was successful in treating pneumonia before the 1950s, and may decrease levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in immune cells. However, the long term effects of LDRT are not known.
Several clinical trials are underway to test the efficacy of LDRT for COVID-19, although whether the benefits outweight the risks remain to be seen. Are you for or against testing LDRT for COVID-19?
